The Real Problem
“I visited Mom, and we spent two hours sitting in silence watching television because we didn't know what to talk about or do together.”
What it is costing you right now: Leaving an aging brain idle speeds up memory loss and worsens dementia symptoms, while leaving visits feeling silent and discouraging.

My 15-Minute Daily Guarantee
If your loved one does not spend at least fifteen minutes a day using these items during the first week, I will swap out two things they ignored for free. It keeps them busy with respectful activities that keep their brain active.
Common questions and concerns
1. "Is $60 worth it for a brain activity pack?"
Yes. You get custom photo memory cards, real-world fact flashcards, word puzzles, sensory squishies, and adult art kits. It provides daily cognitive exercise that helps prevent dementia from worsening, while giving you meaningful tools for every visit.
2. "Will this actually work to keep their brain moving?"
Yes. By engaging multiple senses—tactile squishies, creative art, word puzzles, and recall flashcards—we stimulate different areas of the brain. If they don't use it for at least 15 minutes a day during week one, our free swap guarantee lets you trade two items they ignored for fresh activities.

Real Research
The Science Behind Activity Kits & Caregiver Support
40+
Caregivers & Family Members Interviewed
15+
Minutes of Daily Brain Stimulation
Built from real conversations and scientific research: We interviewed over 40 family members and senior caregivers. Over and over, caregivers shared their guilt over leaving loved ones sitting in front of the TV—and the intense burnout that comes with trying to plan meaningful activities on their own. Research proves that structured, hands-on activity kits transform daily dementia care:

My personal experience with dementia is through my Grandma, or 婆婆 (Popo) in Chinese. My Grandma was diagnosed with dementia in early 2021. It soon became obvious how the disease affects a person's memory, cognitive function, and fine motor skills. It started out with simple slip-ups, but over time it became more and more noticeable. I still remember getting a phone call from my Grandpa, who said that my Grandma was supposed to get groceries like usual, but somehow ended up in Kapolei. It seemed funny at the time, but I wish I had taken action earlier when I first noticed the signs—now she can barely remember that I am her granddaughter.
"I put small memorable pictures of her favorite trips to Macau, custom coloring sheets I made specifically for her, and tactile fidgets; she absolutely loved it! My grandma loved telling me about the pictures and coloring alongside me while I did my homework."
Recently, in late 2025, I began researching dementia activity kits specifically designed to help slow down cognitive decline. My family and I put together a kit for my Grandma in a small shoebox, and that is where it all started. Small connections like this are what fuel our brand.
I watch grandparents go to a store they have visited for years and suddenly forget where it is. That is why I am building a kit full of games and tools to help older adults keep their minds active and slow down memory loss.
Medical research shows that playing memory games helps keep brains sharp over time. I am taking that concept and putting it into a simple, easy-to-use kit that families can use at home with their older relatives.
I am currently a student at Hawaii Baptist Academy and part of the Blue Academy bootcamp in Honolulu. This week, I am turning this idea into an actual product instead of just thinking about it.
Before building this kit, I learned the value of working through hard problems by teaching my friends math when they got stuck and learning to ask for help when my chemistry homework confused me.
If you want to learn more about the kit or test out a sample game with your family, send me a message on LinkedIn!
Mindsprout was founded by Emily Tomasso and Sophia Tung with the mission to create activity kits and purpose-built activities to support those within the early stages of dementia.
